NEBRASKA

The first few Daltons are recorded in Nebraska in 1860-62 while it was still a Territory. Statehood came in 1867. Clusters of Daltons located along the Platte River, a major route for the wagon trains headed west.  By 1880, the Dalton population had increased to 92 persons.
